Favorite Websites

I love to get a great deal on whatever I purchase. To me, the purchase is even better if I get it on sale. Here is a list of my favorite sites to find good deals and research various rides. I will update this page frequently. Also includes authors notes on almost all websites.

To purchase items to complete your love of riding:
Performance Bicycles  Authors Note: I highly recommend getting the Team Performance Membership Card. It costs $25/yr and it helps a lot with saving money plus on every order they automatically upgrade you to Free 2nd day Business shipping.

Road ID Authors Note: I consider this to be a lifesaver. My husband I both purchased the interactive version of the Road ID Sport. After the first year which is free, you pay $10 each year. You can set up your "Emergency Response Profile" so it lists your emergency contacts (up to 5), health care insurance information, medicines you take, allergies, etc. If something were to happen to you, emergency responders can look up information on you by the serial and pin numbers that are located on the back of the ID. (Bret has the blue version and I have the red one).  You can see mine in some of my pictures.

ebay Authors note: I have found some fantastic deals using ebay and it is probably my favorite place to find what you are looking for. You just might have to be a little patient.

Breaks down brand sizing Authors note: This site (World Cycling Productions) is rather comprehensive and mentions the sizing charts for many different apparel brands/companies. I always refer to this on ebay easy so I don't have to go from website to website to figure out if the jersey, etc., will properly fit. Does both mens and womens sizing.

Tulsa Bike Trails Authors Note: Excellent source of information. Has a map of the Tulsa bike trails and various bike ways; also includes maps for outlying regions.

Giro Helmets Authors note: These are the helmets that we use. They are incredibly comfortable and I love how they fit. Fantastic reviews.

Trek  Bicycles Authors note: Little biased here as this is my baby.

Gary Fisher Bicycles Authors note:  For my hubby as this seems to be one of his favorite brands.

Other types of websites:
Tulsa Tough  Authors note: This is an annual three day event that helps promote the love of cycling and fitness. It occurs at the end of May or beginning of June. For 2010, its the 4-6. There are criterion races with professional riders and I had so much fun. On both Saturday and Sunday, there are three races, the 50k, 100k, and 100 mile. Also on Sunday is the fun ride (Townie Ride) through the streets of Tulsa.

Bicycling Magazine Authors note: We have a subscription to this magazine. It's got amazing info, reviews, pictures, etc. I usually read and re-read this magazine several times.
